Last week, I went out to the streets with my team with the mission to talk about Jesus. I personally was rejected multiple times in attempt to pray for the individuals out there and/or speak about Jesus.
Rejection is never fun and can be discouraging. However, isn’t rejection an inevitable part in spreading the gospel? Isn’t it even worse if we didn’t get rejected at all? May be an indicator of not pursuing the mission.
As much as we want to disagree with certain beliefs of Morman’s and Jehova’s witnesses, their “application” of their mission is something worthy to consider. We’ve all seen them. Out at our colleges, riding around in their bikes or walking around in their white dress shirt and tie. Or how about the Jehova’s witnesses who knock on our door or leave a flier?
It is uncomfortable knocking on doors and walking up to people to talk about what you believe especially here in Seattle. Yet, knowing they will be rejected, they still DO IT and they do it often.
When is the last time you had a Christian come up to you on the street to talk about Jesus? When is the last time you had a Christian knock on your door or leave a flier? James (from the bible) may be disappointed..
What do you think?
