Our Statement of Faith

Babysteps Homeless Ministry Statement of Faith

Because our mission is motivated by the love of Christ, we ask all our volunteers to join us as ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). We are a non-denominational organization and are not affiliated with one church.  We do not seek to replace church but to work alongside churches to reach out to the poor.

We believe that these statements constitute the core beliefs of a follower of Jesus Christ and expect our volunteers to be in agreement with these statements. There is no substitution for the Word of God. We believe that in God, we are one body with many parts and expect our volunteers to respect the differences of other believers.

We believe the Bible, both the Old and New Testament, is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God, which equips all saints in spiritual teaching, faith, and life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (1 John 5:7-8)

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His imminent return in power and glory. (Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:31-35; Isaiah 53:6; 1 Corinthians 15:3; Titus 2:13)

A

We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. We believe that God alone holds the power to set us free from the bondage of sin, addictions, and compulsions, and the indwelling Holy Spirit that enables the children of God to live a godly life. (John 1:12)

A

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost. (John 5:28-29)

A

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ. (Ephesians 4:1-3)
